Mother's Day Bouquet - 4 apple (1 of 1)

5. Then I began to add stems and leaves using kiwi fruit for the pineapple flowers.

6. And some green apple stems for the watermelon blooms.

7. I had to squeeze the stems for the red apple bulbs behind the kiwi stems (which I moved to the right a bit) so used little squares of cut green apple.

8. Then all that needed to be added were the blueberries for the centres of the pineapple flowers.

9. And that is the bouquet, all ready to serve and then eat.

Fun Watermelon Car

Watermelon Car

There are some amazing carvings to be made from watermelons. Alas I am neither that talented nor patient so do my simple versions of “carvings” which are met with gratifying enthusiasm from the mini chefs never-the-less.

Here is my fun food car. Easy enough to do and perfect for a party.

Recipe

– Watermelon

– I used apple, peach, plums and blueberries (any round fruit works for wheels or cut from apple/pear etc. the windows can be cut from any larger fruit)

Method

1. Cut a chunk from the watermelon (roughly rectangular).

2. And then carve a front and back indent from the rectangle.

I made them slightly sloping (but then what do I know about cars ?!?!)

3. Before making the wheels from the cheeks of two plums.
